Lay’s

[Closed Captioning]

Lay’s always sounds good. But their loud crunch and crinkly bag can also sound JUST PLAIN LOUD. This can disrupt people’s entertainment experience. Until now...

Insight

Gen Z and millennials don’t just stream TV— they read it. Over 50% of them prefer to use closed captioning.

Idea

Bring Lay’s to popcorns level as an streaming snack by tying it to closed captioning.

  • Youtube Pre-Rolls

  • Chrome extension for streaming

  • Providing comical solutions to our loud crunch for when there are no subtitles to save us.

Execution

Crunch activated subtitles with Google Chrome

By analyzing the play clock on any Chrome tab streaming sports, our Lay’s Chrome extension will let you know when you should be viewing plays— and when you should be chewing Lay’s.  People will hear a crunch when the game resumes.

—The Stealth Bag—

A crinkleless Lay’s bag that contains “chip tips” to help you mute your munch.

We’ll put the Lay’s stealth bags in hidden vending machines.

They’ll be located where discretion is most demanded.
